Food Review: The Polite Pig at Disney Springs
Lately, we’ve been getting so many fantastic options for quick dining at Disney Springs. The Polite Pig is sort of a unique one. While it’s technically a quick service (or counter service) food place by Disney definitions, it’s really more of a hybrid between table and counter service. It’s food quality and pricing is similar to a sit-down table spot, but it’s got a counter service ordering style.
In summary: this is one of the best places to grab real food without a reservation. Come here if you love BBQ flavors and well-seasoned meat, you’re on the Disney Dining Plan (amazing value for counter service credits!) or you’re a big fan of Bourbon Whiskey. Read on for details and pictures of what we ate.
So don’t make the mistake of putting this place in the same category as something like The Chicken Guy or Blaze pizza. It’s closer to Homecoming or The Boathouse.
The Polite Pig specializes in BBQ meats, specialty Bourbon Whiskeys, and beer on tap. It’s got a full-service bar connected to the main restaurant.
It’s located in Disney Springs right as you come down the escalator from the Lime garage, near the fountain.
Since they are all about Bourbon we got to sample a few of their latest favorites, private stock barrels from Whistlepig and Elijah Craig. If this is your thing, you will love The Polite Pig!
They invited me out to try a few of the new items they’ve added to the menu and I was completely impressed with how amazing it all was. I’ve eaten here a handful of times since it opened and enjoyed it every time. But I usually had ordered sandwiches or ribs which were really good, but this gave me a chance to try more of their entrees and sides.
We had the Cedar Plank Salmon and the USDA Prime Brisket both of which come with sides. We tried the Brussel sprouts, smoked root vegetables, and BBQ cauliflower. It was all fantastic. Seriously, I would order it all again and I’m sure I will.
And we topped off the meal with a famous Gideon’s Chocolate chip cookies. These are legendary here in Orlando and do sell out most days.
Here’s the current menu as of 10/18:
Big thanks to The Polite Pig for hosting us- the food was complimentary but all opinions are my own.
