I’ve Got a Dream
This is the beginning of our story. This blog isn’t about moving to Orlando. Well, yes, technically it is. But it’s really more about pursuing a dream. Specifically my dream of living by Disney. If you know me you know that I am a massive Disney geek. I am not alone in my obsession. My fellow Disney addicts and I may baffle others. We speak Dole Whip and train for rope dropping. Yeehaw Bob and Lou Mongello? Baes. (ok well in our head) We know the best spots to photograph FoF. We know what FoF is. Some people don’t get this. The need to go to Disney World again. It’s ok. (It’s not ok.)
My Disney love started pretty young. Once I had children it only got worse. Fortunately my husband Joel shares my obsession love and we have brought our kids since they were babies. Now they are 15 and 12 and will surely have their own perspective on this relocation. I hope to have them share their thoughts after we get settled in.
I’m not the first Disney fan who has dreamed of living near the magic. Close enough to go any time you want. To attend all the special events and meet ups. To never feel that post-Disney trip depression again. Ever. (Isn’t that the worst?) But life is complicated. Being an adult all the time takes up a lot of head space. You have stuff like kids and jobs and mortgages to worry about and it’s so easy to put off everything that isn’t practical. All those things that you were going to get around to when life slows down a little.
Disney is all about dreams. We all know that Walt had the courage to pursue his dreams. So I’m taking a page from his book. And I’m going to share that journey here. With you. I’m going to keep it real. The good bad and ugly. Because you want to know what it’s really like. That’s what I would want to know. I hope you will leave me comments or questions when you have them and let me connect with you on Twitter or Instagram. We will be live broadcasting on Periscope TV throughout the moving process so be sure to check us out there. It may be an emotional roller coaster but I’m determined to hang on and enjoy the ride.
