It’s Halloween here in Walt Disney World. Even though Orlando Florida still feels like summer the fall season is now under way. If you’re planning on attending Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP) you’ll want a game plan for it.
Here’s my top 10 must do list for your visit to Magic Kingdom’s biggest fall party!
1) See the Hocus Pocus Villain Show
Number one because its fabulous. This show has a talented cast who deliver a Broadway quality show. Make sure you catch it on the castle stage- there are several shows and the final one is at the very end of the party.
2) Get a Haunted Mansion Chocolate Tart
These are almost too cute to eat. (Almost!) These chocolate tarts are a series of four designs spread throughout the park. My favorite was the Liberty Square one- it was Chocolate Peanut Butter. I didn’t get chance to try the fourth one. Darn. Guess I’ll have to go back now.
3) Meet Jack and Sally
There are many rare characters out during the party but these two are always the iconic hosts of the party. You can find them in Liberty Square in the gazebo. (Get in line early, they’re very popular)
4) Ride Haunted Mansion
You have to ride this classic ride that is the center point for lots of special activity during the party. The maids and butlers and decked out in their finest for this event.
5) See the Boo to You Parade
This parade is a real highlight of MNSSHP, with a huge cast of performers and tons of unique characters and floats. Plan on getting a spot for the parade about 45 minutes early if you really want a front curb seat. If that’s not a big deal to you then wait until about 15 minutes before the parade and watch it in Frontierland with no problems.
6) Take a Spooky Mansion Photo
There are several special Photopass options at the Haunted Mansion. My favorite was the one holding the lantern. This happens right outside the entrance. There’s another with the hurst that’s inside the queue area.
7) Watch Hallowishes Fireworks
Held only once during the party. This show is like most of the firework shows in that the best view is going to be on main street in front of the castle. Don’t stand too close to the Castle or some of the fireworks will be behind it.
8) Get a Souvenir Popcorn Bucket
Not only is this adorable, you can use it for so many things once you get it home. These were selling out quickly so if you want one get it early in the party.
9) Hug a Villain
There are tons of Villains you can meet during MNSSHP and they’re always so rare to see. They always make the most fun meet and greets and you’ll come away with great pictures of your interaction.
- Queen of Hearts
- Jack Skellington
- Anastasia and Drisella
10) Get All the Candy
Your ticket to MNSSHP includes a treat bag and you can help yourself to any of the treat stations located throughout the park. Lines tend to get shorter the later it gets.
