Now You Can Bring Your Dog With You to Stay at Disney World

Always wanted to bring your Dog to Disney? Starting Oct.15 four different Disney World resorts will begin allowing dogs to stay with you at the resort. This will be offered at Art of Animation, Port Orleans, Yacht Club and Fort Wilderness.

This has caused so much debate online between Disney fans. Many are concerned about dog allergies or the annoyance of having dogs barking at night. Many are thrilled to learn they can bring their furry friends with them on vacation.

This all came about on the heels of dealing with hurricane Irma. During the storm all hotels in central Florida were required to allow pets for those escaping the storm. So for the first time Disney allowed dogs in their resorts. From what I’ve heard from everyone it went amazingly well. Apparently Disney felt it did anyway, since they’ve decided to offer it as a permanent thing.

Whatever your views on it, we do know this:

Rooms for pets are set aside for that (much like smoking rooms used to be) so that you won’t be given a room that’s had a dog in it before. Plus, given the sheer size of these resorts, it should be a very simple thing to request a room away from the dog approved ones. So hopefully that will ease the minds of those worried about allergies.

And don’t forget this is Disney we’re talking about. I feel like people are so quick to doubt their ability to anticipate and handle issues that may arise.

No they don’t always get it right. But they make it right. If people do have legitimate complaints about the dogs I’m sure they’ll be handled.

To bring your dog to one of these four resorts it’ll cost you an extra $50-75 a night and there is a two dog limit. You get a Pluto’s welcome kit when you check in that includes a special sign to put on the door to let housekeeping know when you have your dog inside and you want them to stay out.

All pets will need to be leashed when outside walking. And it goes without saying, but I’m sure there will be reminders to clean up after your pet. ??

For me personally, all I really want is a picture of my dog with Pluto. No word yet on if this is included. ?
